5 women honoured with Joyeeta award

Khulna Divisional administration in cooperation with the Department of District Women Affairs organised the programme. Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md Abdus Samad addressed the function as the chief guest with additional divisional commissioner Md. Faruk Hossain in the chair. DC Nazmul Ahsan, ex-Vice Principal of Government B L College Professor Zafar Imam, Public Prosecutor of Women and Children Tribunal Aloka Nanda Das addressed it as special guests while District Women Affairs Officer Nargis Fatema Zamin delivered the welcome speech. These women were awarded the title ‘Joyeeta’ by the government. Joyeeta Onneshone Bangladesh--a government initiative introduced in 2011-has had a tremendous impact on the society on women empowerment issue.
