Fire Brigade mounts rescue mission to extract cow from drain in Rajshahi

A cow has been rescued from a drain by members of the Fire Brigade in Rajshahi, Friday. The incident happened when the female bovine fell into the drain while eating grass, in the Kalabagan area. After failing to rescue the cow, local people informed fire services. Senior Station Officer of Rajshahi Fire Service Farhad Hossain said: “We were informed about the incident at 10:20 am and after that, I along with Nurunnabi, head of the diving unit, went to rescue the cow.” The cow was rescued from the drain by the Fire Brigade men with help from locals. Later, the cow was returned to its owner Al Amin Hossain. “Everyone in my unit was happy after the rescue mission,” said Farhad. This particular unit of the Fire Brigade has rescued a cow from quick sand, a venomous snake from Kumarpara area and a bird from an electric cable pole, from the Alupotti area of the town. Local people have begun to rely on the Fire Brigade for any kind of emergencies that takes place.
