Easy access to social media apps to communicate with family and friends is shedding light on people at the grass-root level there.
Mujibur Rahman, a local resident,goes to the Digital Centre whenever he wants to have a video chat with his daughter and son-in-law, who live in Rome, Italy.
“The advantage of video chatting is that you get so see and hear your loved ones and hear their voices at the same time; that was not possible before,” said Mujibur Rahman.
“I feel very happy when I see their faces and my new-born grandchild as well,” Mujibur Rahman further said.
Not only Mujib, a huge portion of this marginalized population of Satkhira is now availing of the service.
