At least three people have been killed after an auto-rickshaw rammed a rickshaw van from behind in Khulna’s Dumuria Upazila.
The accident took place on the Khulna-Satkhira Highway at Macher Bheri area around 12:30pm on Saturday, Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Dumuria police station Md Habil Hossain said.
The three-wheeler slammed into the peddle van after being rammed from behind by a Koyra-bound passenger bus. The victims were killed on the spot, the OC said.
Police identified the victims as Afafur Rahman Morol, 35, van puller, Naryan Mandal, 55, passenger Sakibul Islam, 11, a school student.
Seven passengers of the three-wheeler were also injured in the accident.
They have been admitted to the Upazila Health Complex. The bodies of the victims have been sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
