The official website of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), which was taken over by hackers, has been recovered.
SUST Computer Centre’s Director Prof Dr Jahirul Islam said they had taken control of the website around 1pm on Thursday.
“We are fixing the security lapses and bolstering the site’s security,” he added.
Prof Jahirul said they were also trying to find out the identities of the hackers and their motive.
The university’s website was hacked on Wednesday night. Hackers had targeted the website on November 25, 2014 and August 26, 2015.
There were rumours that students of the university’s 2017-18 session were responsible for the latest cyber-attack but they could not be verified.
