Six people have been killed in two separate road accidents in Habiganj and Tangail.
Three of them died in Habiganj after a passenger bus hit a roadside tree on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway on Thursday morning. Five others were also injured.
Identities of the victims could not be known immediately.
Police say a Habiganj-bound bus from Sylhet lost control and hit a roadside tree, killing three people on the spot. The other victims have been admitted to Nabiganj Upazila Health Complex.
Meanwhile, three others were killed in Gazipur after a microbus rammed into a truck at Hotapara area on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway.
The victims were employees of Premiaflex Plastics Limited, a subsidiary of ACI Limited.
Hotapara police outpost’s in-charge Sub-Inspector Najmul Haq said the speeding microbus crashed into a parked truck, killing three people on the spot.
The victims are ACI’s administrative officer Asaduzzaman, official Faridul Haq and microbus driver Rubel Hossain.
