Police have arrested a Jubo League leader from Khulna city in connection with attack in Satkhira district town at a discussion meeting arranged by Awami League marking Independence Day.
Abdul Mannan, convener of district Jubo League unit, was arrested Monday night.
Awami League leader Joynal Abedin filed a case against 16 named people, including Mannan and 25 unnamed people, with Satkhira sadar police Station at night.
Police arrested Mannan from his house in Khulna after tracking his mobile phone, K M Ariful Haque, additional superintendent of Satkhira police, said.
In the afternoon, a group of Jubo League men led by Mannan attacked the discussion meeting in Shaheed Alauddin Chhatar, leaving eight people, including Mansur Ahmmed, president of district unit of Awami League, injured.
