Earlier on January 16 last year, an ostrich chick was born for the first time in the country.From Monday till Wednesday, ostriches at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park in Gazipur, have given birth to three baby chicks.
This is the second time ostriches give birth to baby chicks in such cramped environment in Gazipur.
The park now owns a total of 10 ostriches.
The park’s wildlife inspector Sarwar Hossain Khan told the Dhaka Tribune: “It takes 40 days on average for an egg to hatch once incubation begins.
“We got three ostrich chicks out of eight eggs till Wednesday.”
