Mudslide at Sylhet stone quarry kills one

A worker has been killed in a mudslide at a stone quarry in Lova Chora area under Kanaighat upazila, Sylhet. Forman Ullah, 55, of Dakking Sunamganj upazila in Sunamganj district, died on the spot in the mudslide that took place around 7am on Saturday, according to Nunu Miah, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Kanaighat police station. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Lusi Kantha Hazong have already visited the spot.

The proprietor of the stone pit is Anwar Hossain Azai, he added.
