3 killed in Gazipur road accident

Three people have been killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway near MC Bazar area in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur. The incident took place in the early hours, around 6am, on Wednesday. Maona highway police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Haridas confirmed the matter. The identities of the deceased could not been ascertained yet. According to the witnesses, a Dhaka-bound pick-up van carrying chickens crashed into another pick-up van parked on the highway. The chicken-carrying pick-up van immediately fell into a ditch, killing three passengers and 500 chickens. However, according to the SI Haridas, the Dhaka-bound pick-up van fell into the ditch after its driver lost control of the vehicle. The bodies of the deceased have been kept in the Maona highway police station.
