One held in Cox’s Bazar over murder at Rohingya camp

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Friday arrested a Rohingya man from the Jhumerchhora area in Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar, in connection with the murder of a Rohingya camp leader on January 20. The arrestee was identified as Md Mahibullah, 28, son of Bashir Ahmed and a resident of Block-A of Balukhali Rohingya camp of the upazila. After receiving a tip off, a Rab-7 team conducted a drive in the area at around 5am and arrested Mahibullah, said a RAB press release. A machete was confiscated from Mahibullah’s possession. Mohammad Yusuf, leader of 'D-block' at a Rohingya camp in Thaingkhali Tanzimarkhola, was gunned down on January 20. Later, two Rohingya men were arrested in connection with the murder.
