A Khulna court has recorded confessional statements of four teenagers who were arrested over the murder of Khulna schoolboy Fahmid Tanvir Razim.
The accused confessed their involvement in the murder before Khulna Metropolitan Magistrate Md Shahidul Islam on Tuesday morning.
The four accused were identified as Manjurul Islam Sabbir, Tarin Hasan alias Rizvi, 13, Asif Pranto Alif, 16, Md Sani Islam alias Apan, 13.
Among the four, Sabbir confessed that he stabbed Razim when the stalkers were beating the schoolboy.
Police arrested seven people so far over the murder. However, the main accused of the murder Fahim Islam Moni have not been arrested yet. All the arrested teenagers were sent to Jessore juvenile centre.
According to Mizanur Rahman, investigation officer of the case, stalker Alif and his cohorts used to tease Razim’s friend Moumita on the way to her coaching. This created enmity between Razim and the stalkers. Alif planned to kill Razim as he protested stalking.
On January 20, the stalkers called Razim at Khulna Public College ground according to their plan and started beating him. At one point of the fight, Sabbir stabbed Razim in his chest. Later, Razim died due to excessive bleeding from his wound.
The victim’s father Jahangir Alam lodged a case against 10 people, among which six names were mentioned, with Khalishpur police station on Sunday.
Besides, on Tuesday, students of Khulna Public College and the victim’s family members demonstrated a human chain protesting the murder. Khulna Public College Principal Lt Col Md Jahangir Alam led the human chain.
