Air force chopper makes emergency landing in Sreemangal

A Bangladesh Air Force helicopter carrying high-level foreign dignitaries had to make an emergency landing inside a Border Guard Bangladesh camp in Sreemangal town on Wednesday morning. The helicopter was carrying around 15-16 passengers, including the visiting Kuwait Armed Forces delegation. The Kuwaiti delegates have been identified as Kuwait Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lt Gen Mohammad Al-Khuder and Kuwait Naval Forces Commander Maj Gen Khalid Mahmud Abdullah. BGB officers Lt Col Mehedi Hasan and Senior Warrant Officer Md Farhad, and several others are also reported to be injured.

Confirming the incident, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate Chief Lt Col Rashidul Hasan said the helicopter made an emergency landing 100 feet away from the BGB camp helipad.
