15 shops and houses gutted in Gazipur gas line fire

A fire originating from a leakage in the Titas gas supply line has gutted eight houses and seven shops in Naozor area under Gazipur City Corporation. Two firefighting units of Joydebpur Fire Station managed to douse the fire. Senior Station Officer of Joydebpur Fire Station Zakir Hossain said that a gas line has been leaking in the area for a week. The fire on Tuesday caused by the leak first affected a shop and then spread to the houses. There has been no report of injuries in the incident. The affected shop owners claimed the fire caused a loss of Tk18 lakh, according to the primary sources.
