Chhatra League IHT unit’s president Jahidul Islam Jahid, however, denied that men under him were behind the attack. He dismissed the other allegations as well.Authorities on Wednesday shut down the Institute of Health Technology (IHT) in Rajshahi for an indefinite period, following an attack on its students allegedly by Chhatra League men that left five female students injured.
The injured students are - Rupa, 19, and Naznin Aktar, 18, of the Pharmacy Department as well as Nadira, Mohona and Afrin Sharmin Jyoti, 18, of the Laboratory Department.
Jyoti, Mohona, and Nadira have been admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
All male students were asked to leave their dormitories by 1pm, while female students were given until 3pm, said IHT principal Dr Sirazul Islam.
