Three people were killed in Shayestaganj upazila of Habiganj as a micorbus ran over a motorbike.
The deceased are MoynaTalukder, 25, Mannan Mia, 18, and Sohel Mia, 19, all hailing from the district's sadar upazila. All of them were on the motorbike.
Mannan and Sohel died on the spot after the microbus heading towards Dhaka hit the motorbike coming from opposite direction on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway on Thursday.
Moyna was rushed to a local hospital with critical injuries, where he was finally declared dead in the afternoon, police said.
Confirming the deaths, Shayestaganj Highway Police Station's Officer-in-Charge Jashim Uddin said they seized the microbus, but its driver managed to flee.
Meanwhile, a tenth grader was killed after a rice-laden trolley overturned in Nandigram upazila of Bogra. The incident took place on Wednesday night.
Locals said the ill-fated Hazrat Ali alias Alif, 14, was driving the trolley to his home in the upazila's Gochhon village after collecting a consignment of coarse rice from Singra upazila of Natore.
“As soon as he [Alif] reached Kadma area of the upazila, the trolley turned over, causing him to die,” said Abdur Bari Barek, chairman of NandigramSadar Union Parishad.
