Female AL MP Keya ‘assaulted’ by Habiganj Jubo League leader

A Jubo League leader allegedly assaulted female MP Amatul Kibria Keya of Awami League at Mirpur Bedepalli in Habiganj’s Babubal upazila on Friday afternoon. Bahubal Upazila Parishad Vice-Chairman Tara Miah, also a leader of the Jubo League upazila unit, and his followers swooped on Keya while she was distributing cheques among the fire victims at the Bedepalli, said Upazila Nirhabi Officer Rafiqul Islam and Bahubal police station OC Mashuk Ali.Ruling party lawmaker Keya, from female reserve seat-28, said the attackers also snatched her mobile phone during the attack. As she fell sick after the assault, the MP was taken to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet.
