A Chittagong-bound bus of Saudia Paribahan has knocked down a three-wheeler on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway in Khudaibari Rastermatha area under Coox’s Bazar sadar upazila, leaving two people dead and another injured.
The deceased are: three-wheeler’s passenger Nurul Haque, 55, a resident of the upazila, and its driver Abdur Rashid, 26. The accident took place early Tuesday.
On information, a team of police rushed in and rescued the injured, whose identity could not be ascertained immediately, said Md Khayeruzzaman, in-charge of Eidgah investigation centre.
The police seized the bus and the three-wheeler and handed the dead bodies over to their families, said acting Sub-inspector Selim Miah, in-charge of Malumghat police outbox in Dulhazara.
