5 more Rohingyas shot dead inside Myanmar, Ukhiya police recover bodies

Police have recovered the dead bodies of four men and a woman, all Rohingyas, from Anzumpara border point at Palongkhali union in Ukhiya upazila, Cox’s Bazar. Myanmar military had shot these people dead on the other side of Anzumpara border point on Wednesday, confirmed by Ukhiya police station’s acting OC Abul Khayer. “Myanmar military forces opened heavy fire and carried out arson attacks at the Rohingya residences inside their border.” “Later, the Rohingya refugees, who have been staying at the no man’s land between the borders, brought the dead bodies from inside the Myanmar border.” Earlier, Teknaf police recovered the dead bodies of seven people including three children, all of whom were drowned in the Naf River on the same day. A total of 70 dead bodies have been recovered since the latest crackdown erupted in Myanmar’s Rakhine State.
