Body of missing tourist found in Jaflong

A tourist missing since Tuesday has been found dead following a 24 hour search in Jaflong, Sylhet. The deceased has been identified as Foysol Hossain Sourov. He is from Ambagan Railway Colony in Chittagong and obtained his HSC from Chittagong City College this year. Goainghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge Hillol Roy confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday. Earlier on Tuesday, two 18-year-old boys went missing in Piyain River near Gowainghat upazila. The youths are Foysal Hasan Sourov and Kamal Sheikh. Quoting locals, Gowainghat police told the Dhaka Tribune that Sourov and Kamal came to tour Sylhet with some of their friends. They went missing around 2pm Tuesday while bathing in the river. Their friends asked the locals for help after carrying out their own search for Sourov for some time. Kamal’s body was found by a team of divers from the Fire Service department on Tuesday evening. The authorities then continued their search for Sourov. After nearly 24 hours, Sourov’s body was found near the Jaflong Zero line area around 9:30am on Wednesday. The bodies of the deceased have been handed over to their relatives.
