Female police constable stabbed by youth inside running bus

A female police member has been stabbed by a youth inside a running bus on Chuadanga-Darshana road in Chuadanga's Damurhuda upazila. According to witnesses, Oishe Khatun, 25, a constable of Chuadanga Police Line, was badly injured in the head when a youth, named Shariful Islam, stabbed her with a knife around 9pm on Sunday. She was traveling from Jessore to reach her work station. Some passengers of the bus immediately caught the assailant and beat him up. They later handed him over to police. The injured police member is now taking treatment in Chuadanga Sadar Hospital. Any further detail about the youth or the motive behind the attack could not be known immediately. Chuadanga Additional Superintendent of Police Abdul Momen said the process was on to file a case with Chuadanga police station in this connection.
