Cattle trader tortured to death by BSF

The deceased was identified as Asaduzzaman, 23, son of Abul Hasan of Chowratari area of Durgapur union. According to Lalmonirhat BGB battalion 15, members of BSF opened fire on Asaduzzaman when he along with his accomplices went to border pillar no 924 to bring cattle around 4:30am. Although others managed to flee the spot, BSF members caught Asad and took him to Singimari camp, Jolpaiguri camp, India. Local sources said Asad was tortured to death by the BSF men at the camp. Major Zia Md Masum Bin Kuddus, director of Lalmonirhat BGB 15, said: “We have been informed that a Bangladeshi trader was tortured to death by the BSF members at Singimari camp." The authorities of the Bangladesh Border Guard sent a letter to the BSF, protesting the incident.
