After the hearing, the court rejected the bail petition and granted five days' remand to Salam.

The GD statement stated that Tarique has misguided the nation by delivering “provocative speech against the law enforcers which should be considered as a threat to the sovereignty of the country.”
While addressing a discussion on the “Democracy Killing Day” in East London on January 4, Tarique Rahman said: “The aim of our movement is ousting the Hasina-led government, restoration of democracy, and election under an impartial election time administration.”
On January 7, responding to a writ petition, the High Court has banned publishing, broadcasting or reproducing speeches, statements of BNP's senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman in print, electronic and social media as long he is absconding.
Tarique has been in London since September 11, 2008 on medical grounds after securing parole in various cases.
He faces 14 charges, of which four, including the August 21 grenade attack case, are on trial and the rest are stayed.
