A Dhaka court has sent Humayun Sultan Shadab, son of a former MP of Jessore 5 constituency to jail in connection with a case filed for killing his wife.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Muhammad Anowar Sadat passed the order responding to a bail plea filed by defense counsel Jesmin Chowdhury on Thursday afternoon.
After the completion of Humayun’s three-day remand, the investigation officer of the case made a prayer to keep him confined for the sake of proper investigation.
On November 14, Humayun was arrested for allegedly murdering his 24-year-old wife Dr Shamaruf Mahzabin Kona.
On November 16, Dhanmondi police station Sub-Inspector Kazi Shariful Islam, also the investigation officer of the case, produced Humayun before the court and sought a 10-day police remand.
After hearing the remand plea the metropolitan magistrate granted a three-day police remand.
Meanwhile, the High Court granted anticipatory bail to Tipu Sultan and his wife Jesmin Ara for four weeks in the case on November 16.
Kona’s father Nurul Islam, an assistant PDB engineer in Jessore, filed the murder case against Humayun alleging that Kona was murdered by her husband and in-laws.
