The Defence lawyers have said they will file a review petition, challenging the verdict of the Appellate Division that gave top Jamaat-e-Islami leader Kamaruzzaman death sentence.
Expressing dissatisfaction, defence lawyer Tajul Islam said: “We will file a review petition after getting the full copy of the judgement.”
However, prosecution said there would be no scope to file a review petition against the final verdict awarded to Kamaruzzaman.
Earlier in the day, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court gave death penalty to the former al-Badr man for committing crimes against humanity during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.
