The High Court has summoned Supreme Court lawyer Yunus Ali Akond for providing misinformation to the media on Ebola virus.
The HC bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Nazrul Islam Talukder ordered Akond to appear before it at 10:30am Wednesday to explain what information he gave to the media about its order, reports BSS.
Deputy Attorney General Mokhlesur Rahman told the journalists that a HC bench, in response to Akond's writ petition, ordered the government on Monday to screen the passengers coming from the Ebola-affected countries and take necessary measures in this regard.
But while briefing the media the same day, the SC lawyer Yunus said the HC ordered the government to immediately take steps to screen all incoming passengers for Ebola infection at all international ports and border areas with the help of armed forces.
