The hearing on charge framing against Nur Hossain, the prime accused in the Narayanganj seven murder case, and his two associates has been deferred for the third time.
A Barasat court in Kolkata yesterday deferred the date to October 27 as Nur’s associate Khan Sumon, who had secured bail earlier, did not appear before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate on health grounds.
However, police brought Nur Hossain and another associate Ohidur Zaman Shamim to the court from Dumdum prison. Judge Modhumita Roy fixed the next date for hearing on the issue.
The court has so far fixed three dates – September 1, 15 and 29 – for hearing on the charge framing. Nur Hossain was not present on September 1 while the judge on September 15 and Khan Sumon yesterday which had compelled the court to defer the dates.
On August 18, Baguihati police brought charges against the trio for trespassing into the country after police arrested them on June 14. Nur Hossain did not appeal for bail in three and a half months.
