A Dhaka court yesterday granted a six-day remand for four and three-day remand for two for their alleged involvement in the triple murder in the capital’s Moghbazar area.
Dhaka’s Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rezaul Karim passed the order when Ramna police station Sub-Inspector and also the investigating officer in the case Mizanur Rahman produced them before the court with a 10-day remand plea for the murder and another 10-day for illegal arms possession.
The magistrate passed the remand order rejecting the bail plea filed by the defence counsels.
A six-day remand in both cases were ordered for Md Saifullah alias Siam, Md Ramzan Ali, Md Rubel Miah alias Sunny and Md Maruf Hossain. And a three-day remand was granted for Al-Amin and Md Shafin Laskar for illegal arms possession.
With these six, a total of 10 accused have been arrested so far in connection with the sensational murders.
On Saturday, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel arrested them in different drives from Motijheel in the capital and Munshiganj district.
On August 28, unidentified criminals gunned down three people including a woman and injured another at a house at Sonalibagh in Moghbazar.
Investigators have found that the murders followed a rivalry between local land grabbers and extortionists.
Kailya Babu, prime accused in the murder case, was killed in an alleged shootout with detectives last week.
