Ex-DMCH boss indicted for graft

Former director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Brig Gen (retd) Bazle Quader and six others were indicted yesterday in a case filed for embezzling Tk2.31 crore.

Senior Special Judge Md Jahrul Haque rejected their bail and fixed October 15 to start the trial.

The other accused are ex-deputy director Foyzullah, doctors Atiur Rahman and Moshiur Rahman, two former accountants both named Nazrul Islam, and surgical instrument supplier Habibur Rahman.

On August 27, Atiur and Moshiur escaped from the dock of the courtroom after it rejected their bail petitions. On September 7, Atiur was sent to jail after surrendering to the court, while  Moshiur remains a fugitive.
