Ministry of home affairs has asked the law enforcers to keep alert ahead of the religion festivals – Eid-ul-Azha and Durga Puja.
State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal made the call in a meeting comprising law enforcers, leaders of the Muslim and Hindu communities at his secretariat on Monday.
“The government will be able to fight terrorism and extortion strongly like before,” Kamal said.
He added that the government will show its zero tolerance policy on extortion ahead of the religion festivals.
In this regard, the law enforcers have been given directions, he said.
Watch towers will be set up on roads and highways to monitor the transports specially those carrying the sacrificial animals, the minister informed.
No indiscipline will be tolerated over vehicular movement during the festivals, he added.
