Inqilab news editor on 5-day remand

A Dhaka Court has granted 5-day remand against Inqilab news editor Rabiulla Robi rejecting his bail plea for publishing a report.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate SM Ashiqur Rahman has passed the order when the Investigation Officer of the case DB Inspector Azizur Rahman pleaded for a 10-day remand on Wednesday.

Earlier, Detective Branch (DB) of police had arrested Inqilab news editor Rabiulla Robi from the office on Tuesday night.

Robi was arrested in a case filed by Additional Inspector General of Police Pralay Kumar Joardar, the police official said.

Pralay filed the case with Wari police station against the Bengali daily for publishing a report on Monday.

In the report, various allegations were brought against the AIG.
