Police arrested the acting ameer of the Jamaat-e-Islami’s Kadamtoli unit Abul Kashem and eight other activists from the capital’s Dhania area yesterday.
Confirming the arrests, the OC of Kadamtali police told the Dhaka Tribune: “Kashem is the party's acting ameer for Kadamtoli unit. After primary interrogation, we have found that three of them are connected with the party.”
Police arrested them while they were holding a meeting, and recovered anti-government leaflets, papers and banners from their possession.
