The Cabinet Division has instructed all public offices to hold mass hearings every week to record public complaints and resolve the issues through appropriate measures.
The initiative was taken based on instructions from the prime minister issued during a meeting of secretaries on April 7. Later the deputy commissioners across the country begun holding mass hearings every Wednesday.
A letter of the Cabinet Division claims that the regular hearings and the mass hearings have reduced people’s sufferings. Sent to all ministries, divisions and public offices, the letter asks the authorities to consider all complaints submitted in oral or written forms, or through online or telephone.
