Protest continues at BAU

Hundreds of agitating students of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) are observing their scheduled programmes for the sixth consecutive day yesterday, protesting the killing of Saad Ibne Momtaz.

They brought out a procession and staged a sit-in program at the altar of Bijoy’71 demanding various points including arrest of all the involved in Saad’s killing and to make their names public.

Earlier, the students lit candles and organised a “mass signature collection campaign” at the altar of Bijoy’ 71 to drum out support in favour of their demands.

BCL BAU unit also formed a human chain on the campus on Saturday demanding the immediate arrest of Saad’s killers.

Saad, 21, a final year student of Fisheries Faculty of BAU and organising secretary of BCL Ashraful Haque Hall unit, was killed in an attack by friends who are also BCL men.

On Friday, BCL unit of BAU permanently expelled its two activists namely Sujoy Kumar Kundu, organising secretary of Ashraful Haque Hall unit of the university and Md Rukonuzzaman Rukon, an activist of the student body, in face of strong protest by the students.
