‘Sayedee’s name not mentioned to investigator’

Update : 05 Feb 2014, 06:58 PM

The defence counsel, arguing in the appeals case against Jamaat leader Delawar Hossain Sayedee’s death sentence, yesterday told the Appellate Division that Mofiz Uddin Pashari, the key prosecution witness, had not mentioned Sayedee’s name to the investigation officer for the killing of Ibrahim Kutti, for which the Jamaat leader was given the death penalty.

However, the witness implicated Sayedee for the murder committed on October 1, 1971, by giving deposition at the International Crimes Tribunal, said SM Shahjahan, the defence counsel.

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court will resume the hearing today on the war crimes appeals case.
