A Chittagong special court has released the full verdict in the smuggling and arms cases of the 10-truck arms haul, Tuesday afternoon.
Omar Fuad, bench assistant of Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge and Special Tribunal 1 confirmed this to the Dhaka Tribune.
“The court will send the copy of the full verdict to the High Court and jail authorities soon,” he said.
10 years of 10-truck arms haul
On January 30, the court sentenced 14, including two ministers -- Matiur Rahman Nizami and Lutfozzaman Babar -- of the then BNP-led 4-party alliance government, to death in arms smuggling case of the 10-truck arms haul.
The same 14 convicts were awarded life term imprisonment in the arms case.
Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge and Special Tribunal 1 Judge SM Mojibur Rahman delivered the verdict.
