The government on Thursday has appointed former justice ATM Fazle Kabir as the member of Bangladesh Law Commission.
According to Press Information Department, Fazle Kabir has been appointed as the member of the commission for three years.
He will enjoy all facilities as like a justice of High Court Division during this period, says PID.
On December 31, 2013, he retired from International Crimes Tribunal (ICT).
As a judge of the tribunal, Fazle Kabir awarded sentences to former Jamaat-e-Islam ameer Ghulam Azam, party leader Delwar Hossain Sayeedee and BNP Standing Committee member Salauddin Quader Chowdhury for war crimes.
He was made Tribunal 1 judge in 2010 and then Chairman of tribunal 2 when it was constituted. Later, he replaced the first tribunal chief Justice Md Nizamul Huq who quit over Skype scam.
