The High Court on Thursday directed law enforcers to refrain from harassing or arresting BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in connection with three cases until filing the police report against him.
While passing its order, the court stated: “Police can arrest Mirza Fakhrul anytime after filing police report against him.”
An HC bench comprising of Justice Borhan Uddin and Justice KM Kamrul Kader passed the order in the afternoon.
Mirza Fakhrul was present in the courtroom during the hearing.
Our correspondent Al-Masum Molla reported Mirza Fakhrul went directly to the party office from court.
Fakhrul is facing three charges, including a police killing case. Of the charges, two were filed with Ramna police station while one was entered with Shahbagh police station.
