A Dhaka Court yesterday ordered to send Major (retd) Hafizuddin Ahmed, rejecting his bail prayer in a case filed against him for killing police and arson attack at the capital’s Banglamotor.

Earlier, Motijheel police officials showed him arrested in two other cases and prayed for another 20-day police remand.

The CMM court fixed the remand hearing on January 9.  One case was filed on November 5 with the Motijheel Police Station.

Sub-inspector of Motijheel Police Station ASI AKM Azizul Haque filed the case for killing a police man and injuring a number of others in front of New Anar Bakery near Kamalapur Bazar on the second day of the previous 60-hour hartal.

In another case filed with the Motijheel Police Station Hafiz was accused of torching seven cars and blasting several cocktails in front of Motijheel Ideal School on September 24.

Sub-Inspector Humayun Kabir Hawlader in the case accused 53 named and unnamed 80-90 people for the incident on September 24.
