At least 50 people were injured as garment workers clashed with law enforcers in Jamgara area of Ashulia area on the capital’s outskirts on Sunday morning .
The clash ensued when police obstructed the workers’ vandalism on the Abdullahpur-Baipail highway.
The workers of different garment factories in Ashulia took to the street this morning demanding a minimum wage Tk8,000.
The agitating workers vandalised a number of vehicles on Abdullahpur-Baipail highway.
They threw bricks towards the police as the law enforcers prevented their vandalism. Police fired rubber bullets and tear shells to disperse the workers.
