All charges against Mueen, Ashraf proved

Fugitive al-Badr leaders Chowdhury Mueen Uddin and Ashrafuzzaman Khan have been found guilty in all the 11 charges for their alleged involvement with the killing of 18 intellectuals between December 11 and 15, 1971.

The International Crimes Tribunal began reading out the verdict against former al-Badr leaders at 11am.

Justice Obaidul Hassan, chairman of International Crimes Tribunal-2, started reading out the verdict part.

Earlier, Justice Md Shahinur Islam read 48 paragraphs while Justice Mozibur Rahman Miah read from 49 to 150 paragraphs from the 154-page verdict.

The court will read out a 41-page excerpt of the verdict. 

“When the accused surrender, they will get the certified copy of the verdict,” said Justice Obaidul Hassan before starting the court proceedings.

Witnesses Masuda Ratna, Dhaka University Professor Dr Anwar Hossain, Martyred Professor Giasuddin’s sister Farida Banu, Martyred ANM Golam Mostafa son Anirban Mostafa were all present at the courtroom.
