Hundreds of workers of a garment factory in Gazipur blocked the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway on Monday afternoon demanding payment of their salary and festival bonus.
Some three hundred workers of “Water Lily Garments Limited” took to the streets, staged demonstrations and blocked the highway at about 12 noon as the factory authority refused to pay them their full salary and festival bonus, our correspondent reports.
Later, at about 12:30pm, they removed the barricade from the highway after the authorities assured them they would meet their demands.
