The International Crimes Tribunal has filed a general diary with Shahbagh police station over the verdict leak of war crimes convict Salauddin Quader Chowdhury.
Tribunal Registrar AKM Nasiruddin Mahmud made the annonucement at a press briefing on Wednesday.
While talking to journalists, he said it might have been stolen from the registrer office. However, no indications were made as to who would have committed such an act.
He confirmed that the leaked document did not match with the original verdict delivered at the tribunal.
Earlier in the day, International Crimes Tribunal 1 said the family of the convict had made “huge investments” to leak the verdict.
On Tuesday, the tribunal 1 gave death sentence to BNP leader Salauddin Quader for his involvement in war crimes in Chittagong during the 1971 Liberation War.
His lawyers and family alleged they had a copy of the verdict before it was delivered in court.
