The International Crimes Tribunal 2 is set to pronounce its verdict any day in the case against war crimes suspect Abdul Alim for his involvement in crimes against humanity.
The tribunal kept the case for CAV (Curia Advisari Vult, a Latin legal term meaning reserving judgement until a subsequent time) after wrapping up the arguments of both the prosecution and the defence on Sunday.
Alim, a former member of President Ziaur Rahman’s cabinet, was indicted on 17 charges of crimes against humanity and genocide, reportedly committed during the 1971 Liberation War.
