Security personnel arrested the Deputy Commander of the Mro National Party Long Yung Mro in Ali Kadam Upazila, Bandarban on Friday.
A group of law enforcers conducted a drive and arrested him and his second in command. The detainee was later brought to the Ali Kadam unit of the security force for interrogation.
Md Hossain, officer-in-charge of Ali Kadam police station, confirmed the arrest and said: “Members of the Mro National Party have been doing criminal activities in Thanchi upazila and Ali Kadam upazila for a long time.”
Long Yung Mro was made deputy commander of the party after the death of its chief commander two years ago.
