The war crimes tribunal has set September 29 to deliver order on framing of charges against fugitive war crimes accused Zahid Hossain, alias Khokon Razakar.
The International Crimes Tribunal 2 on Tuesday also heard the discharge petition filed by the state defence counsel for the accused. Khokon is the incumbent mayor of Nagarkanda municipality in Faridpur and also a vice-president of Nagarkanda upazila BNP. He is facing 11 charges of crimes against humanity he had allegedly committed between April 21 and July 30 in 1971.
The charges against him include murder, abduction, confinement, torture, arson, looting, and forced conversion of Hindus and deportations.
While reading out the charges, prosecutor Mokhlesur Rahman had said: “Khokon was so cruel that he killed babies in their parents’ arms.”
