A section of scientists of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) vow to continue their work stoppage programme till next Thursday demanding immediate punishment of the accused persons who allegedly harassed two scientists of the institute.
They have started the protest programme at the BRRI office in Gazipur Monday.
The protestors Monday held a rally in front of BRRI auditorium where they announced that they will continue the strike till Thursday to press their demand.
Dr Md Anwarul Haque, general secretary of Biggan Samity, said after the incident one and a half months have passed but the accused were still unpunished.
He added that if the authorities do not fulfil their demand they will go for tougher movement.
Earlier on July 22, two scientists were allegedly harassed by a group of junior scientists and workers on the meeting room of director general of BRRI.
Later, two separate probe committee were formed by Agriculture Ministry and director general of BRRI to investigate over the matter.
