Defence lawyers of Gias Uddin-Al-Mamun said they did not have any confidence in the court overseeing the trial of money laundering cases against BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman and his friend Mamun, after the court rejected three of their petitions.
On September 1, bank official Tahsin-ul-Huque gave deposition while the defence lawyer cross-examined the witness.
Sunday, defence filed a recall petition for two prosecution witnesses, FBI Agent Debra Leprovettee and Tahsin-ul-Huque for cross-examination. The Special Judge’s Court 3 rejected the petitions.
A time plea was filed by the defence counsel for submitting a High Court order, saying it was partially heard by a High Court bench and the next hearing was due on September 16.
The court fixed the date on September 22 for submission of the High Court order.
