A case was filed on Friday over the murder of former police officer Fazlul Karim. But the law enforcers are yet to arrest anyone.
Barrister Mukim Uddin Khan, son-in-law of the victim, filed the case with Rampura police station in the evening.
“We have already started our investigation and are trying to unearth the mystery behind the murder,” Delwar Hossain Khan, officer-in- charge of the station, told the Dhaka Tribune.
Members of Rab along with Detective Branch (DB) of Police and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) are working together in this regard, the OC said.
Retired six years ago as an additional superintendent of the CID, the 65-year-old was shot dead in his apartment by a group of unidentified assailants at Rampura on Thursday.
Family sources said that Karim was buried in the native village of Ramkrisnadi in Munshiganj. Meanwhile, a police official said they had already detained a number of people from Rampura and launched a massive hunt for the culprit in Munshiganj as the family members suspected that Karim might have been killed over a land dispute there
