A Dhaka court yesterday ordered to send Oishee Rahman, the alleged murderer of her parents, to jail from the National Juvenile Development and Correction Centre.
Muhammad Anwar Sadat, magistrate of Dhaka’s juvenile court, passed the order following separate petitions.
Detective Branch Inspector Md Abu-al-Khayer Matubbar, also investigation officer of the case, and social welfare department Probation Officer Siddiqur Rahman filed the petitions before the court along with birth certificate of Oishee.
The petitioners sought court order for send Oishee to prison from National Juvenile Development and Correction Centre at Konabari, Gazipur. Oishee had been staying at the correction centre since August 24.
According to the birth certificate, Oishee is above 18 years of age. It also says she was born in Khulna.
However, relatives of Oishee and her school records say she is below 18.
Another Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ashaduzzaman Nur yesterday recorded statements of three prosecution witnesses in the murder case.
They are CNG driver Iman Ali, owner of Chamely Mansion Taslima Aktar and Oishee’s aunt Kulsum Begum.
On August 18, a Dhaka court granted five-day remand for Oishee, her friend Rony and domestic help Sumi in connection with the case. Later, on August 24, a metropolitan magistrate recorded confessional statements of Oishee and Sumi.
Oishee’s father DB Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman, 48, and his wife Swapna Rahman, 40, were found dead at their Chamelibagh flat on August 16. Oishee, an O-level student of Oxford International School, and Sumi went into hiding after the murder.
